I’ve been holding several management positions in Network Engineering in Hungary and Germany.
The two most enjoyable parts of my positions are to develop my people and my organization and to bring the newest technology solutions to our customers.
Thinking of and working with very fresh and relevant technology brings a lot of new ideas and solutions, which I put into this blog.
Whatever I’m designing and thinking of about the relations of individuals, society and technology are independent of my employer’s plans or ambitions.
Sci-Fi
I read a lot of sci-fi when I was young. I liked them because of the many different visions of our possible future. Many of that sci-fi was ignoring one or more physical limitations that we have or had that time. I remember books talking of autonomous driving or the presence of robots or travelling with lightspeed. Many of those sci-fi books have visions how the individuals, the society and the technology would live together when the tehnology is evolving.
My advice on what to read and follow
My advice to you might be to read those sci-fi books because more and more might become a reality for us.
I’ve enjoyed and still enjoy to try to develop further those stories. Like getting some impressions from the Total Recall movie (which probably everyone knows), where implementing memories into the human brain was possible. So thinking a little bit further: would you pay 10,000 EUR for a trip to the Antarctic and be physically there. Or if you have only 100 EUR. Would you spend that 100 EUR for the memories of being on the Antarctic?
With a couple of steps further: if you need to entertain those people, whom work are not required anymore for the society, but you don’t want them to rise against the society? Would you try to provide them with lovely memories to keep them happy?
And if you still could spare some time, try to follow up some standardization process or bodies s as well. Many smart people are working there, and those standardization processes envision a lot about our future.
